I have been told by people to write a blog post, so here goes. Also I must improve my writing in this blog because it is getting criticism (which is very justified) from a few people. So here goes
Firstly I had a good Christmas, didn’t do much apart from eat and sleep and watch TV but it was better than working. Its the first time I have really had a Christmas holiday from work and I made the most of it by doing very little. On Christmas day I stayed at home ate a large roast dinner and then sat down for the rest of the day with a stomach ache. On boxing day I went to my days and did pretty much the same thing again, the only difference was it was buffet food rather than a meal. Which all means I ate too much food.
On the 27th December I met Joanne at Nelson Bus station and got the bus to Manchester (It was slightly busy). Went to Nandos for dinner and then did some shopping for various things, although I didn’t really buy anything due to spending all my money before Christmas (and I had plans to buy something…..more on that shortly). But we had a good day until it rained A LOT, and for the first time in existence Jo didn’t have an umbrella, so we got quite wet before getting the bus back home in the evening.
On the 28th I got a lift back to Nottingham which Graham as I had a few bags of stuff to bring back. We arrived at around 3.30 after having to stop for washer fluid halfway down the M1 (its very hard to see which the road has been gritted and most of the grit has attached itself to the windscreen) and a short snack break.
The next few days were quite relaxed and we were building up to our new years eve party, such as buying food and alcohol and still trying to arrange people to come. I can’t really remember what we did until New Year so I will jump straight over to that.
The New Years Eve Party
For the first time in a few years we had a few people at our New Years party (participants were……in alphabetical order : Adam, Alex, Claire, James, Krish, Me and Surovy
The night started off slowly with a few games of Jenga (which we turned into a drinking game) This involved punishment for losing but also touching blocks to see if they move. Surovy saw the majority of the Apple Sours, and kept protesting with “I’m not allowed” (But that didn’t work…..oh No)
Next we just sat, drank and ate from what I can remember, until we all had more drink and then the kitchen was “transformed” into a dance Floor, which Claire occupied quite well, slowly followed by me!!! The night continued until New Year when we released a barrage of party poppers, and pooped a few balloons (mainly Alex or James I can’t remember who)
I first remember dancing to Cotton Eye Joe and thats how the night continued until about 3am, the only interruptions where 2 broken glasses on the “dance floor”, and dropping Claire on the floor which didn’t look comfortable (but she seems fine with no lasting damage…apart from a bruised elbow)
After 3ish am the night turned into a group Karaoke session. The music got louder and so did our voices there were several Oasis, Killers and I think some Queen songs but my memory is quite patchy at this point. It seemed to all die off around 5.30 at which point I went to bed.
A awoke New Years Morning to somehow find I had no hangover (I was lucky compared to some people…more again shortly) Adam, Claire and I (who weren’t hungover) went to Macdonald’s across the road for so “food”. Meanwhile Alex and James were still on the floor, Alex managed to get up mainly to the bathroom and then go back to sleep in Adams bed. James however just stayed on the floor, he was awake and “talking” but wasn’t moving…in fact he didn’t move until 7.00am the next morning when Adam and I had to go to work. He was supposed to go back to Sheffield with James on New Years day but couldn’t physically get up.
After the New Years party we have had quite a quiet few weeks, went out on Friday 5th Jan for a few drinks first to the Roebuck and then to the Horn in Hand in Nottingham, then back to the local for last orders.
Finally we arrive at the week just gone on Monday (8th Jan) I went swimming for the first time since Uni, I managed 30 lengths in about 45 minutes but my whole upper body ached, and that got worse in the morning. Adam managed 40 lengths in 45 minutes which was a good start. So we are going to continuing swimming on Mondays now. (thats tomorrow)
Nothing much happened apart from watching 24 which Adam got for Christmas we have managed to watch most of the first series in less than 2 weeks. Its good and I really can’t stop watching once we start (watched 4 episodes in a row at one point)
On Friday I went to Richer Sounds in Nottingham to buy my new amp (an upgrade from my old Cambridge Audio amp, which is for sale btw). I’m now just waiting for my mum to send me a bit of my speaker I need as my new amp won’t let me Bi-wire, should be getting those back on Monday)
Yesterday (Saturday) Adam and I met Claire and Surovy in town for a random day in Nottingham the plan was Bowling, Food Cinema, but it turned out Bowling, Food and playing pool. We first went Bowling, I won
(scores of 102 and 122) It seems adam lost the ability to bowl and was very inconsistent (he managed 4 strikes in one game, but only managed a score of 70-80, that must be some sort of record). Next we went to Pizza Express. I have never been before and I really enjoyed it, I had a chicken and Italian vegetable pizza, I can’t remember the name but it was good. Actually rewinding slightly parked outside Pizza Express was a Aston Martin V8 Vantage in Silver mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Adam actually missed it which is just shocking.
After eating we were supposed to go to the cinema to watch the Will Smith Film in the Pursuit of Happiness, but we missed that so instead had a few games of Pool at Riley’s and got the bus back home at around 10…at which point Adam and I watched another episode of 24 (Addicted?…. I think so)
Thats my blog up to date, well done to anyone who read all that post it was quite long but it is for nearly a month worth of stuff.
More to follow soon…….
